I hope that you got everything that you wanted for Christmas.

All I asked for from Santa was a copy of the list of Who Was Naughty.

Didn’t get it  -  Again.

It is just like when I was a kid, I asked Santa for a bike – Didn’t get it.

So, as a good Irish Catholic boy, I stole a neighbor’s bike and prayed for forgiveness.

2008, what a wealth of possibilities this new year brings. I am looking forward to it, indeedy. And the circus is in town too! It’s an amazing world that we live in, isn’t it?

Before I get too wordy and misty eyed, let me tell you about this coming 2nd Sunday. It is right around the corner, January 13th, 3 days from now. It is not merely 2nd Sunday, it is SOUPER SUNDAY.

You can almost feel the reverberations in your chest, can’t you? Elaine will be cooking up huge batches of Black Bean soup. Let me tell you, it is the best in the world, no brag, just fact. We will also have some darn good coffee and a gazillion newly unpackaged delights from Bali. Come on over for our Souper Sale and the new tropical art. Selected items are 25% to 50% off. – Because you deserve it.

In the back of the Square the Humidity Gallery will celebrate “Real Winter’ in Tallahassee” serving up art, good food and community. – Soup, corn bread & brownies.

Rumor has it that over at The Other Side Vintage Store there might be some “Wonder Chili”. It is unclear if the chili is a wonder or if they wonder if there will be chili.

I’d also like to mention Jennifer Clinard’s studio, she will be exhibiting quilts by Mary McCarthy, a quilter who has had a relationship with the Gee’s Bend, Alabama quilters’ since 1967. Oh, yeah, starting next month, February, The Renaissance Café will be open on Saturdays and on 2nd Sundays to serve brunchy sort of delicious goodies.
