These beautifully intricate cross-stitched pouches have been made for 3 generations by a family in Kashmir, India. We get ours from one of the daughters, she teaches at the School of Medicine at Florida State University and every time that she takes trips back to India she carries an empty suitcase with her to fill up with these wonderful, practical pieces of art. When I first saw one of these purses the light brown strap was slung over the tan and nearly bare shoulder of a beautiful woman and the velvety pouch was resting on the provocative soft curve of her left hip. She looked like that cool chick that you might see strolling the Spanish Steps. I felt the rare treat of butterflies fluttering in my belly and my thoughts spoke to me telling me that I must meet that woman. As she strolled through the shop I realized that that low flying angel was my wife, my lovely Laine.
