You have to trust me on this. I have looked at a gazillion Chinese characters to discover the meaning of these symbols. Well, at least 3,000 characters anyway. You can check out this site yourself - www.zein.se/patrick/3000char.html - maybe you will have better luck deciphering the coin.
Here is what I have, the symbol at the 12 o’clock position sort of looks to me like a box with a French moustache. What I found along these lines translated into, “Giving offerings to the dead.”
I really have no idea what the character in the 3 o’clock position means so I chose one of my own liking that means, “Loyal, Virgin or Ancient Fortune Teller.”
I am fairly certain that the symbol at the bottom means, “Always, Forever, Eternal”.
The one in the 9 o’clock position might mean, “Making a continuous progress” or ” Make a move in Chess, trick”
You know, I really wouldn’t put it past them to just be making up a bunch of characters to mess with the gullible. Do the Chinese really have a character that means, “Rosy Cloud”?
I figure that your Chinese is no better than mine and at least I tried. So, until my dear friend, Kris, comes back from her extended stay in China and she translates this ceramic coin for us, this will just have to make you happy.
